I agree, it’s fundamental for lead generation regardless of the size or nature of your business. I am still undecided about when is best to have my pop-up appear. On exit seems too risky that the user may be in a rush to get away. A bit of experimentation needed on my part!

Yes, it does seem that experimentation is the way to go, to compare sign ups with the number of visitors.

I agree knowing when to use it is the key. I have it but its disabled right now. I think the key is not annoying the reader by blocking your content. I think putting it at the end actually works well. But you gotta make sure that you have great content with high value and I think people will sign up without reservation.
