I think for small internet marketing owners, the problem of how to advertise is very important for them. As they do not have big budget, how to get their website expose and create sufficient traffic to make sales is a challenge.
    What can you advise them?

    • Chuck Holmes says:

I would recommend drafting up a simple marketing plan. Use some guerrilla marketing techniques. I actually suggest offline marketing. Bring people to your website from things you do offline, such as postcards, public speaking, newsletters, networking, etc.

Pick one or two marketing methods that make sense and focus on those. Most folks try to do way to many things and spread themselves thin. Just my perspective.

  2. Lawrence Mak says:

I think SEO is the most important tactic for your internet marketing business online. Although initially you have to spend some times and effort, or hire an expert to do it for you, but once your webpages have a top ranking on the search engines, it will create free traffic to your website.

    • Chuck Holmes says:

I agree that SEO is important, but only if a website has GREAT content. Content trumps everything. I see so many folks trying to do SEO for websites with crappy content that no one would want to read or share. If you write for your audience, they will naturally share it and link to it. That is my experience with two top 1% websites that I own. I don’t build links or do any SEO other than put out great content.

  3. Chuck Holmes says:

Since everyone has made the switch to internet marketing, I believe old school is even more effective. I have not been physically (face to face) prospected by any network marketer for more than 10 years. I get about 10 calls a day and 50+ emails. Go on social media for even five minutes and you get attacked by MLMers. Even though I do my business by blogging I am making the shift to face to face. Just my two cents. What do you think?

      Hey Delong,

You are right… there are two sides to every story, and Internet Marketing is no exception.

But, of course we always want to look at the positive part of Internet Marketing, and work through the negative parts that can cause us grief.
