For those of you that are familiar with PageRank, I have put the PR next to the website address to give you authority rating given by Google.

We’ll start with ProBlogger (PR-6) – This blog is a site about how to make money as a blogger. This blog has grown an incredible following and is now one of the most well known blogging sites on the planet.

ProBlogger

Common Craft (PR-6) – Although the Common Craft blog provides good tips for people who want to incorporate video into their blogging, the main reason for its popularity is the Common Craft video series, In Plain English, which explains complex subjects in simple terms.

Want Not (PR-4) – This is a shopping blog that is all about finding sales and the deals. If you are planning a shopping or e-commerce blog, remember these lessons from this blog.

  • You need to post regularly to get people in the habit of checking your blog for deals so that they’ll use your affiliate links to purchase.
  • Don’t lose sight of your voice; without personality, a shopping blog is a directory… take a look at the disclosure policy and how she identifies affiliate links.

Wantnot

Copyblogger (PR-7) – Copyblogger is about using content marketing strategies to improve your site’s traffic.

CopyBlogger

Almost Fearless (PR-4) – Christine Gilbert’s top-ranked travel blog AlmostFearless.com recounts her adventures about leaving the corporate world to become a full-time traveler and freelance writer.

Duct Tape Marketing (PR-5) – John Jantsch is the creator of the Duct Tape Marketing System and Duct Tape Marketing Coach Network that trains and licenses small business marketing coaches around the world. His blog was chosen as a Forbes favorite for marketing and small business. John’s small business marketing site covers all the bases in helping small businesses with their marketing strategies.

Cake Wrecks (PR-5) – The tagline for Jen Yates’s blog Cake Wrecks says it all: When Professional Cakes Go Horribly, Hilariously Wrong. Read the blog for a laugh, enjoy the jokes, and then take a minute to think about why this blog became so successful.

CakeWrecks

LipSticking (PR-4) – This blog started by author and entrepreneur Yvonne DiVita, focuses on marketing to women online. Yvonne started her first blog, Lip-sticking, back in March of 2004 shortly after publishing her first book, which supported her work on understanding the women’s market online.

Mom-101 (PR-6) – Liz Gumbinner’s personal blog Mom-101 is full on funny stories about her life, family, and career. An advertising copywriter by profession, She can make you laugh and cry, and she’s not afraid to take a stand on issues like, high fructose corn syrup, handmade toys, and integrity in blogging. If you’re writing a personal blog, pay attention to how she keeps her voice consistent across a number of very diverse topics.

Mom 101

Global Voices (PR-7) – Global Voices is a citizen journalism site that has more than 200 Global Voices. These bloggers are both reporters and participants in their stories, offering a fresh alternative to the detachment of mainstream media and giving voice to many otherwise silent stories. This site can be overwhelming, so I suggest picking an issue or region of the world, and then following it rather than trying to read everything.
